Cat Stevens is a British singer-songwriter known for his distinctive voice and thoughtful, spiritual lyrics. He rose to fame in the late 1960s and 1970s with hits like "Wild World," "Father and Son," and "Morning Has Broken." Born Steven Demetre Georgiou in 1948, he later changed his name to Yusuf Islam after converting to Islam in 1977. After a long break from pop music, he returned to recording and performing under the name Yusuf / Cat Stevens. His music blends folk, pop, and rock with introspective themes.
