I love this song. It's fairly simple. The most obvious way to play it is by putting a
on the 1st fret and playing D, A, A7, D, D, D7, Em, E, E7, etc. But I lost my capo.. so
the barre version.
It also has a wonderful dooo-dooo-dooo doodoodoo thing going on between verses and in
beginning.. as in:
E|------6-----6-----6--------|
B|------8-----8-----8--------|
G|------8-----8-----8--------|
D|---------------------------|
A|---6-----5---------------5-|
E|---------------8-----6-8---|
Verse 1
I D#always play Russian BbRoulette in my head
Bb7Seventeen black and D#twenty-nine red
How D#far from the D#7gutter
How far from the Fmpew
I'll Falways reF7member to forBbget about Bb7you
Chorus
D#A good man is hard to fiCnd
Only Fmstrangers sleep in my Bbbed
My D#favorite words are good-C7bye
And my Fmfavorite Bbcolor is D#red
Verse 2
A long dead soldier looks out
From the frame
No one remembers his war; no one
Remembers his name
Verse 3
Go out to the meadow;
Scare off all the crows
It does nothing but rain here,
And nothing will grow
Chorus
A good man is hard to find
Only strangers sleep in my bed
My favorite words are good-bye
And my favorite color is
Fmmy favorite color Bbis
Fmmy favorite Bbcolor is D#red
