[Intro] Gm Dm Fm Cm Ebm B A D [Verse 1]
The Gmboy sits in a field tall Dmgrass above his head, and he's thinking of the path that hisCm ancestors did tread and as he's Ebmdreaming of the future a Bmist does descend, and he Awonders if this is the beginning or Dis this the end And out Gmof the mist a tall Dmcreature does appear, his eyes wide and friendly, his Cmface full of years, he says "we're Ebmgoing on a journey in my Bhot air balloon, and the Atime is now so we Dmust get going soon".
[Verse 2]
They Gmflew over the houses and the Dmstreets they use to know, over Fmtrains going fast and Cmpeople going slow, there was Ebmsnow on the mountains and Bboats on the sea, and there were Alovers in the forest carving their Dnames into a tree The boys says "where are we Gmgoing, where Bare we going to, I'm Fmscared of the future and I'm Cmmildly scared of you, the Ebmcreature looked down and said "don't be Bscared of the unknown", we're Agoing to a place in Dwhich I have grown.
[Verse 3]
With a Gmsudden gush of wind the balloon Dmfell from the sky, and the Fmboy shut his eyes and Cmhoped he wouldn't die, the Ebmcreature was calm, he had Bdone this before so he Alanded the hot air balloon and he Dopened the door
[Verse 4]
The Gmboy walked out and he Dmcouldn't believe his eyes, there was a Fmflock of sheep Cmfloating through the skies followed Ebmby a shepherd going Balong for the ride the Aboy wondered Dwhat was going on.
[Verse 5]
So he Gmwalked through this land with the Dmcreature by his side, to his Fmleft was a painter, Cmpainting the tides, and to his Ebmright a pack of Bwolves did cry to the Arise and fall of the Dmoon. And they Gmentered the forest and the Dmtrees they hung low, Fmeverything was dark and Cmnothing there did grow Ebmapart from a single Byellow rose that the Aboy put in his Dhair And Gmout of the forest, the Dmsnow it did fall, the Fmcreature held the boy Cmaway from the storm as out Ebmof the snow appeared an Bempty platform, and they Awaited patiently for a Dtrain.
[Verse 6]
From Gmfar in the distance a Dmtrain did arrive with a Fmthousand polar bears Dmpassengers inside, the Ebmcreature said to the boy "are you Bready for the ride" and the Aboy said" Dyes I think I am" So they Gmsped through the hills and over Dmmountains they did Fmgo, over old wooden bridges Cmwithered from the cold and the Ebmboy stared out of the Bwindow and Asmiled at all he could Dsee They Gmtravelled through the desert Dmto the setting sun, over Fmstreams and rivers to Cmwhere it all begun, and through the Ebmwind and the rain until the Bdays were done, they Arode through the Dland
[Verse 7]
GmAll of a sudden, the Dmtrain it did stop, the Fmcreature said to the boy "this is Cmwhere we both get off", and all the polar Ebmbears climbed to the Btop of the train to wAave their gDoodbyes Now Gmalone, they walked through a Bfeatureless land, no Fmblade of grass, no Cmgrain of sand, and Ebmon the horizon a Bgreat sea did stand and the Acreature said " this is where I must Dgo" And Gmat the waters edge, Dmnothing more was said, the Fmboy looked at the creature, not a Cmsingle tear was shed, and the Ebmcreature laid his hand upon the Bboys head, and Agave him a Dwink of his eye The Gmcreature turned around and walked Dmslowly to the sea, to Fmgo to a place where Cmforever he would be, and with Ebmone great leap he Bleapt into sea and in the Ablink of an eye he was Dgone. The Gmboy stood still, Dmalone now on the shore, he Fmstared into the distance and Cmhoped there would be more, and the Ebmyellow rose it Bfell to the floor and Adrifted away on the Dwind.
