Thin Lizzy, Whiskey In The Jar. Tabbed by Stefano, barleycorn@infinito.it. Whiskey In The Jar - Thin Lizzy I found this song in Lars Von Trier's "Breaking The Waves" soundtrack (great movie, indeed). I don't think it can be heard on any Thin Lizzy album, as it was released as a single. It took me two days to work it out and a whole morning to write the tabs, til I got definitely bored of this song... I hope you'll enjoy. I wonder how many people will look for this song, as it is a pretty obscure one. Anyway I really like it, and it features great soloing by Gary Moore, so I think it's worth learning. Btw, the verses of this song are an old Irish Tune... I once heard it played on a violin (and I was playing the guitar in the background). The tune is actually in D, with a slightly different ending; the chord pattern is: ||: D | D | Bm | Bm | G | G | D | A :||, then | A | A | D | D | G | G | A | D (end)| Any comments, additions or improvements are welcome. Though I did my best (and I think it's fairly accurate), I know something here and there in the transctiption is not correct. Let me know what you think. Just one more thing: does anybody want to transcribe Gary Moore's version of "Don't Believe A Word" for me' 26/07/00, Stefano Serafin (barleycorn@infinito.it) Now, the song: WHISKEY IN THE JAR - THIN LIZZY intro: Am G Em (scrape strings with a pick or strum very fast) main riff: | G F Em G | (2 times) | ^ ^ strum... |

I think there's probably another guitar doubling five semitones lower, or maybe Gary Moore uses an octave divider, or something like that... I really can't understand where the trick is.
