Vicar In A Tutu
(Morrissey/Marr)
Basically this song (off of the luxurious Queen Is Dead album) is all simple
chords with that Johnny Marr touch. The E chord during the verse, for
example, is played by stroking the high E string and then moving up with the
stroke. It is not that difficult. Here it is:
EI was minding my business lifting some lead off
EThe roof of the Holy Name Church
EIt was worthwhile living a laughable life
EJust to set my eyes on a blistering sight
Of a vicar in a C#mtutu
He~s not strange
He just Awants to live his life this Bway
EA scanty bit of a thing with a decorative ring
EThat wouldn~t cover the head of a child
EAs Rose collects the money in the cannister
EWho comes sliding down the banister
The vicar in a C#mtutu
He~s not strange
He just Awants to live his life this Bway
EThe monkish monsignor with a head full of plaster
ESaid, -my man, get your vile soul dry-cleaned-
EAs Rose counts the money in the cannister
EAs natural as rain he dances again
Vicar in a C#mtutu
Oh yeah
Oh Ayeah.B..
E E E E
Vicar in a C#mtutu
Oh yeah
Oh Ayeah...B
EThe next day in the pulpit with freedom and ease
ECombating ignorance, dust and disease
EAs Rose counts the money in the cannister
EAs natural as raihe dances again and again and again
And the fabric of a C#mtutu
Any man could get used to
And AI am a living Bsign
I~m a living C#msign....A B
I~m a living C#msign....A B
that is basically the song in it~s entirety...
-----so i broke into the palace
with a sponge and a rusty spanner
she said, "i know you, and you cannot sing"
i said, "that's nothing you should hear me play piano"
