These are some pretty simple warm ups that i use when i pick up the guitar and just feel like playin sumthin, they dont sound half bad either. Try to pick up your speed and see how fast you can run through these riffs while maintaining a high quality sound. Version "a" is mainly picking fast, "b" is both picking and pulling/hammering quickly. riff 1a e|--------------------------------5-4-5p4p0--| B|--------------------------5-4-0------------| G|--------------------5-4-0------------------| D|--------------5-4-0------------------------| A|--------5-4-0------------------------------| E|0-5-4-0------------------------------------| riff 1b e|--------------------------------5p4h5p4p0--| B|--------------------------5p4p0------------| G|--------------------5p4p0------------------| D|--------------5p4p0------------------------| A|--------5p4p0------------------------------| E|0h5p4p0------------------------------------| riff 2a e|0-5-4-0------------------------------------| B|--------5-4-0------------------------------| G|--------------5-4-0------------------------| D|--------------------5-4-0------------------| A|--------------------------5-4-0------------| E|--------------------------------5-4-0------| riff 2b e|0h5p4p0------------------------------------| B|--------5p4p0------------------------------| G|--------------5p4p0------------------------| D|--------------------5p4p0------------------| A|--------------------------5p4p0------------| E|--------------------------------5p4p0------| riff 3a e|------------------------------0-4-5--------| B|------------------------0-4-5--------------| G|------------------0-4-5--------------------| D|------------0-4-5--------------------------| A|------0-4-5--------------------------------| E|0-4-5--------------------------------------| riff 3b e|------------------------------0h4h5--------| B|------------------------0h4h5--------------| G|------------------0h4h5--------------------| D|------------0h4h5--------------------------| A|------0h4h5--------------------------------| E|0h4h5--------------------------------------| riff 4a e|0-4-5--------------------------------------| B|------0-4-5--------------------------------| G|------------0-4-5--------------------------| D|------------------0-4-5--------------------| A|------------------------0-4-5--------------| E|------------------------------0-4-5--------| riff 4b e|0h4h5--------------------------------------| B|------0h4h5--------------------------------| G|------------0h4h5--------------------------| D|------------------0h4h5--------------------| A|------------------------0h4h5--------------| E|------------------------------0h4h5--------| riff 5a (these two are mainly for tuning) e|--------------------0-5-0---------------------| B|----------------0-5-------5-0-----------------| G|------------0-4---------------4-0-------------| D|--------0-5-----------------------5-0---------| A|----0-5-------------------------------5-0-----| E|0-5---------------------------------------5-0-| riff 5b e|--------------------0h5p0---------------------| B|----------------0h5-------5p0-----------------| G|------------0h4---------------4p0-------------| D|--------0h5-----------------------5p0---------| A|----0h5-------------------------------5p0-----| E|0h5---------------------------------------5p0-| as you probly noticed, most of these are repeated paterns in different orders. You could use the same basic patern to play your own warm up runs. have fun with these warmups... if i think of any more good ones, ill update later.
