This is all very simple. The whole song follows this same pattern: Am, C, F, G. It's on the 3rd fret, and these chords are relative to the capo. It's 3/4 timing, like a waltz, so strum appropriately. Each chord gets exactly 4 and this does not change. Flightless Bird, American Mouth by Iron & Wine Verse 1:
I was a qCuick wet boy Diving too dAmeep for coins
All of your Fstraight blind eyes Wide on myG plastic toys
And when the Ccops closed the fair I cut my lAmong baby hair
Stole me a Fdog-eared map And called for youG everywhere
Chorus:
Have I fCound you? Flightless Ambird, jFealous, wGeeping
COr lost you? AmAmerican mouth
FBig bill lGooming
Verse 2:
Now I’m aC fat house cat Cursing my sAmore blunt tongue
Watching the Fwarm poison rats Curl through the wGide/white fence cracks
Kissing on Cmagazine photos Those Amfishing lures thrown in the Fcold and clean
Blood of ChristG mountain stream
Chorus:
CHave I found you? AmFlightless bird, Fbrown hair Gbleeding
COr lost you? AmAmerican mouth
FBig bill, Gstill going down --Evan A.
