Capo: 6
Tuning: E A D G B E
For the C chord, you play the strumming pattern (D D U D U) 3 times normally but at the end of the third time
you lift your index finger and place your pinky on the 3rd fret of the 1st string (D U D U D) then switch to
having your index finger on the 1st fret of the 1st string (U U D) then removing it and playing a C without
the index finger (one strum up then continue with the next chord). The F and G are regular. Sounds complicated
just listen to the song a few times and you'll get it.
Also, you can play this on capo 3 as well. I find it sounds just as nice and works better for some people.
The C is played like this:
[Relative to Capo]
e|---0--------3-------1---0-------------|
B|---1--------0-------0---0-------------|
G|---0--------0-------0---0-------------|
D|---2--------2-------2---2-------------|
A|---3--------3-------3---3-------------|
E|--------------------------------------|

[Verse]
Cyou can’t be by yourself
Cyou can’t be by yourself
Fthey kept you in the dark
Fin a room with nothing sharp
until Gyou were well
Cyou told me that you were so
Cscared of what they know
Fbut love isn’t afraid
Flove is using your first name
in the Gpoems that I wrote
Cfollow me to a home
Cabandoned at the shore
Fthere’s a story on the walls
Fwritten in marker across the halls
thatG you’ll adore
Cand no one can see us now
Clike the sun behind the clouds
Flets grab a drink for lunch
Fand wash out the taste of blood
from ourG guilty mouths
Fwhen you stepped into the light
FI saw it running down your thighs
and thoughtG what a beautiful sight
to see you aliveC
