Subject: CRD: LOVE SONG (was Re: REQ: Elton John song)
It's called "Love Song" written by Lesley Duncan. I think Elton
recorded it for the "Empty Sky" album and re-recorded with Duncan
singing backup for a live disc in the late 70s.
Love Song
-- Lesley Duncan
The chords are Gm7, C7, and C6.
Gm7The words I have to say
May well be simple but they're C7true,
Gm7Until you give your love,
There's nothing more that we can C7do.
Gm7Love is the C7opening door
Gm7Love is what C7we C6came C7here C6for
Gm7No one could C7offC6er C7you C6more
Gm7Do you know what I C7mean'
Gm7Have your eyes really C7seen'
Gm7You say it's very hard
To leave behind the life we C7knew,
Gm7But there's no other way
And now it's really up to C7you
Gm7Love is the C7key we must turn.
Gm7Truth us the C7flame C6we C7must C6burn.
Gm7Freedom the C7lesC6son we C7must C6learn.
Gm7Do you know what I C7mean'
Gm7Have your eyes really C7seen'
