Rotting On Remand
(Billy Bragg)
CI stood before the judge that day
As hFe refused my bCail
And I knew that I would spend my time
Awaiting trial in jGail
I sCaid there is no justice
As they lFed me out of the dCoor
And the juFdge said, "This isn't a court Cof justice son
This iGs a court of laCw".
CThey first sent me to Windsor
And tFhen to Stoke on TrCent
In a holding cell in Liverpool
Three days and nights I sGpent
My soClicitor can't find me
And my faFmily don't kCnow
I keep tFelling them that I'm innoCcent
They just say, "CGome on son, in Cyou go.C7"
I was piFcked up on suspicion of somCething I haven't done
