Mad Season was an American rock supergroup formed in Seattle in 1994. The band featured members from several prominent grunge and alternative rock bands: Layne Staley of Alice in Chains (vocals), Mike McCready of Pearl Jam (guitar), Barrett Martin of Screaming Trees (drums), and John Baker Saunders (bass). Known for blending grunge with blues and psychedelic rock, Mad Season released just one album, Above (1995), which became a cult favorite. The group was short-lived due to personal struggles and the deaths of Staley and Saunders, but their music remains influential in the 1990s rock scene.
